27 Jul (Sat): Birdwatching at Lorong Halus

Open to the public but pre-registration required

This walk starts at the Punggol Promenade. For years, Little Grebes have made their home at Lorong Halus, an old rubbish dump site. Grassland species like the Yellow-bellied Prinia, Munias, Baya Weaver, Long-tailed Shrike and more thrive here. In 2011, PUB completed works to create Lorong Halus Wetland to help purify water that flows through the former dump site. Join us for an enjoyable morning of sights and sounds presented by these birds. NSS Kids attending the walk with their parents will have a dedicated kids guide.

Register by 19 July 2013 on the NSS website. Maximum 30 persons.

Time: 7.30am
Venue: Meet Wong Chung Cheong beside Popeye Restaurant at Tebing Lane off Punggol East.
