9 May (Fri): Talk on "The Smooth-coated Otter in Singapore - Restoration, Recovery and Residence"

Once thought to be locally extinct from the 1960s, the smooth-coated otter has since made a successful resurgence across the northen shores of Singapore that has taken place since the late 1990s till now. The otters have returned presumably from Johor to Singapore's coastlines and as their range expands with increasing populations, they are seeking out new areas.
 Join Meryl as she talks about the otters' return, increasing presence and habitats along our coastlines and waterways. She will discuss how Singapore can play the role of refugia for this species to promote their continued presence.
