29 Jul (Sat): Butterfly Walk at the Rail Corridor

For Nature Society (Singapore) members only

Update from NSS on 25 July: "The Green Corridor is now closed to the public as work is underway for the laying of water pipelines. As such, the Butterfly Walk at the Green Corridor scheduled for this Sat, 29 July at 9.30am with Gan Cheong Weei leading, cannot proceed as planned. It has now been decided to shift the walk venue to the RIFLE RANGE Forest." Please contact NSS for more details on new arrangements.
Gan Cheong Weei will lead us on a butterfly quest following the former railway track. We start at King Albert Park, passing through Bukit Timah Railway Station before ending at Old Holland Road. The walk runs through Clementi Forest, probably the richest butterfly stretch along the entire Rail Corridor. A good mix of forest and open field butterflies can be anticipated, including the Common Birdwing (Singapore’s largest butterfly) and Common Rose (Singapore's National Buttery).
