Join our evening saunters at the Jurong Lake Gardens this Mid-Autumn Festival. 22 Mar (Fri): Nite Wild Critter Watch at Singapore Botanic Garden

Specially for kids and the family, join this walk by Cicada Tree Eco Place!

As dusk falls, kids learn to use our bat detector to hear their echo-locating calls. The lovely Spotted Wood-owl, Buffy Fish-owl and tinier Collared Scops-owl all live here. We then walk the easy pathways to visit the ponds and other corners of the garden to meet other nite critters who live here such as the Four-lined Treefrog and Large-tailed Nightjar, plus maybe also encounter sleeping snakes and monitor lizards.

FREE mangrove walks every hour: 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm by the Naked Hermit Crabs. Register to chope a space but you can join in on the spot too.

The event starts at Berlayar Creek boardwalk, next to Labrador MRT station. And takes you from the mangroves there to the corals at Marina at Keppel Bay!

Cicada Tree Eco-Place has an exciting activity planned to celebrate Singapore Shores at Belayer Creek. It is an event you do not want to miss - a Family Nite Critter-Watching Walk for a maximum of 20 people only!

As dusk falls, we observe bats emerging from their daytime roosts. Participants will use our bat detector to capture the calls of feeding bats as they zig-zag across the sky. We then explore the mangrove forest for more critters of the night, via the boardwalk.

Join the Naked Hermit Crabs who are only doing this walk this year, so don't miss this opportunity!

There are many creatures to look out for in the mangroves, such as mudskippers, tree-climbing crabs, snails, herons and monitor lizards. The best part of the nature walk is at the end when we get to the coastal boardwalk. There is plenty of animal activity in the evening. We have seen young monitor lizards crawling into their nests as they settle in before nightfall. Sometimes you may even spot kingfishers, nightjars and otters! It really is quite exciting for the children to be able to see these animals in the wild.

The Walk the Talk event involves a talk by Nature Society (Singapore)'s Tony O'Dempsey followed by a night walk about the Bukit Batok Nature Park where we hope to view the creatures of the night.

The talk will discuss general conservation issues and state of play in Singapore and will include an introduction to some of our interesting and rare fauna. Afterwards, the group will adjourn to the Bukit Batok Nature park for a leisurely night walk led by Mr. Tony O'Dempsey. We expect to see a variety of our elusive nocturnal native fauna including Colugo, Flying Squirrels, and Civets.

ACRES celebrates World Wildlife Day with a series of 3 walks including a night walk.

The rich biodiversity around you is often hidden amongst you during visits to our parks, but fret not, the expertise and experience of ACRES Volunteer and professional nature walk guide, Andrew Tay, will fully immerse you in the wonders of our parks and the lush biodiversity within them.

The nature walks are pay-as-you-please, recommended amount is $10 onwards per person. The maximum number of people per walk is 20, so sign up early!

3 Nov (Sat): The Rail Experience – Bat Walk @ Rail Corridor

Join us in this rare opportunity to discover and learn about the bats of the Rail Corridor. As part of the walk, participants will get to use a bat detector to listen to the ultrasonic calls of bats and search for their roosting sites. If you are lucky, you may also run into other remarkable nocturnal residents such as colugos, snakes, or even civet cats!

This FREE nature-guided walk is conducted by Cicada Tree Eco-Place, as part of Friends of Rail Corridor.

SBG is a lovely old garden created almost 200 years ago. It still retains its original primary rainforest patch. Although now totally surrounded by housing, busy roads and more development, this lush garden is still home to our smaller species of wildlife. The well-vegetated ponds here are nurseries for several species of frogs, and both insect and fruit eating bats roost in the garden’s palm trees. As dusk falls, kids learn to use our bat detector to hear their echo-locating calls.

18 Aug (Sat): Eyeshines of the Wetlands - Night walk at Sungei Buloh

Part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Join this specially curated night walk at the Reserve to spot animals that are active in the wetlands after the sun sets.

Participants are to arrange for their own transport as no transport will be provided. This walk is not suitable for children below 13 years old.

12 Aug (Sun): Herp Night Walk at Tampines Eco-Green

The Herpetological Society of Singapore is excited to bring you a night walk through Tampines Eco-Green! Although it is an urban park, a stroll through this green patch can be very rewarding. See the many bats flying in the sky as dusk falls. Listen to the bellowing call of the Banded Bullfrog. If we’re lucky, we may even come across a snake or two!

In an effort to promote an awareness of Singapore’s natural and historical heritage, and to promote conversations amongst Singaporeans, the HSS has begun the Herp Walk! We want to raise awareness, in particular, about Herps! These misunderstood creatures are often thought of as scary or unnecessary. But we want to show Singaporeans that Herps are important and integral to the Singaporean ecosystem!
