Join NParks for outreach activities and a guided walk at Changi Beach Park to learn about the amazing intertidal life that can be found on our shore!
We do not have a minimum nor maximum age limit for the intertidal walk. However, all participants should be able to walk around the intertidal area and beach during the guided walk. Child participants are to be kept under constant supervision by their accompanying adult during the entire duration of the trip.
Each guided-walk session can accommodate a maximum of 15 people. We seek your understanding that registration is on a first come, first served basis. The walk will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.

The long-tailed macaques are the most conspicuous animals at Bukit Timah. Although commonly seen, they are very misunderstood. Few seeing them realise anything about the social world these monkeys live in. They have kin networks, power struggles, friends, foes, and an otherwise complex social network. In many ways, they provide a mirror of our own sociality.

This session introduces the research facilities at the Singapore Botanic Gardens such as the Library of Botany and Horticulture, Orchid and Micro-propagation laboratory and the Herbarium.
Highlights of this 45-minute tour includes a visit to the Herbarium which stores physical records of reference plant materials, some dating as far back as 1790. In addition, learn about our hybridization programme for orchids, a process introduced back in 1930’s by the then Director, R.E Holttum.
Limited to 25 people, for ages 9 and above.

Specially for Pesta Ubin, join this Ubin night walk under the umbrella of Strix Wildlife Consultancy led by Subaraj Rajathurai, the foremost nature guide in Singapore. This walk is supported by the Vertebrate Study Group, Nature Society (Singapore).
Your guides are experienced and knowledgeable field naturalists, so expect amazing encounters and delightful discoveries during this special walk at Pulau Ubin. As well as fascinating stories about the history and heritage of Pulau Ubin.
Please bring along insect repellent, torch, poncho, bottle of water. Optional items if you have them, do bring along your binoculars and a camera.

21 May (Sun): Nature Appreciation Walk at Lower Peirce
Re-discover the wonders of Lower Peirce through this free nature appreciation guided walk. Along the shady, cool boardwalk, discover and learn about the amazing plants and animals that can be found along the trails.
Keep an eye out for pitcher plants, Macaranga (Ant-plant) and Nibong palms as well as macaques and on lucky days we might even get spot the Flying lemur (Colugo) in action. Gain a greater appreciation of Singapore’s rich natural heritage and the need to protect it for our future generations.

As one of the most important natural coastal ecosystem in main island Singapore, Labrador Nature Reserve consist of various biological diverse landscape, such as mangrove, parkland and lush coastal hill forest. It is also densely scattered with maritime and war historical structures given its importance during or event before the WWII.
As you travel back in time to explore the history of Singapore, keep a lookout for the many bird species that flutter from tree to tree. Don't ignore the incessant chattering of the plantain squirrels as they diligently search for food. A visit to Labrador Nature Reserve will enthral you with the native flora and fauna that call this place home.

Come join the Chek Jawa Familiarisation Tour with the Naked Hermit Crabs! After you have completed the Familiarisation Tour on 21 May, you will be able to participate as a volunteer at the Balik Chek Jawa Day on 3 June. Come join us and make a difference for nature!

20 May (Sat): Ubin Rustic Reflections Tour
This tour takes approximately 2 hours. It starts at the Assembly Area before proceeding to the former Bin Kiang School site. You will then head over to the Sensory Trail pond to learn about the habitat restoration efforts before making stops at Pulau Ubin’s former headman’s house and Kampung Melayu.
Tour participants will also visit a rubber plantation that once supplied Singapore, and possibly the region, with latex, and learn more about the different plants that played a major role in shaping this country’s culinary delights at the Ubin Fruit Orchard before ending the tour at Teck Seng’s Place – a restored Chinese kampung house.
For all ages, children under the age of 13 to be under parental/guardian guidance.
Limited to 2 groups, each group a maximum of 15 people. More details and registration online.

Take a walk with us to experience Ubin's wonderful natural and cultural heritage. The 2.2km trail takes about 2 hours to complete. The tour will start at the Ubin-HSBC Volunteer Hub and take you through the spice trees around Jelutong campsite, Butterfly Hill, Pekan Quarry, Sensory Trail Ponds, Kampong House, Old Bin Kiang School site, Toa Pek Kong Temple and end at the Wayang Stage. You will hear about the use of spices in cooking and the interesting history of the different sites.

Specially for Pesta Ubin, join this Ubin night walk under the umbrella of Strix Wildlife Consultancy led by Subaraj Rajathurai, the foremost nature guide in Singapore. This walk is supported by the Herpetological Society of Singapore.
Your guides are experienced and knowledgeable field naturalists, so expect amazing encounters and delightful discoveries during this special walk at Pulau Ubin. As well as fascinating stories about the history and heritage of Pulau Ubin.
Please bring along insect repellent, torch, poncho, bottle of water. Optional items if you have them, do bring along your binoculars and a camera.
Two groups each maximum 20 persons, first-come-first-served.

10-14 May: Tua Pek Kong Festival at Pulau Ubin
Pesta Ubin begins with the Tua Pek Kong Festival on Pulau Ubin. On the fourth month of the Lunar calendar, when the moon is full, Pulau Ubin bursts with celebrations!
For six days and six nights, the birthday of Tua Pek Kong is honoured with colourful festivities. Ubin Jetty is decked out in colourful flags and lanterns, and Ubin Town is host to lavish rituals. The ancient Wayang Stage at Ubin Town comes alive with traditional opera in glittering costumes as well as more modern vibrant celebrations. Pilgrims and worshippers make their way to Ubin to celebrate.

14 May (Sun): Ubin Mangrove Kayaking Adventure with Asian Detours

For ages 7 to 75. Friendly for beginners, come as you are because equipment and gear will be provided. Hop on one of our tandem kayaks in a pair or with our guide, and you are set for your adventure!
The journey begins with a short length of open sea kayaking before entering the mangroves. You will immediately notice a sharp difference between the choppy open sea waves and tranquil calm waters among the mangroves. Do not be fooled by the peacefulness as inactivity because the mangroves are abuzz with wildlife! For bird watching enthusiasts, you will be able to spot species such as the Kingfishers, Eagles, Hornbills, Herons and Egrets – and that is just to name a few.

13 May (Sat): A walk with your neighbours - the macaques of MacRitchie
The long-tailed macaques are the most conspicuous animals at Macritchie Reservoir Park. Although commonly seen, they are very misunderstood. Few seeing them realise anything about the social world these monkeys live in. They have kin networks, power struggles, friends, foes, and an otherwise complex social network. In many ways, they provide a mirror of our own sociality.
