10 Jun (Sat): Discover Ubin with Strix Wildlife Consultancy

Specially for Pesta Ubin, join this Ubin walk by Strix Wildlife Consultancy led by Subaraj Rajathurai, the foremost nature guide in Singapore.

Your guides are experienced and knowledgeable field naturalists, so expect amazing encounters and delightful discoveries during this special walk at Pulau Ubin. As well as fascinating stories about the history and heritage of Pulau Ubin.

Please bring along insect repellent, sun-screen, sun-hat, poncho, bottle of water. Optional items if you have them, do bring along your binoculars and a camera.

Two groups each maximum 20 persons, first-come-first-served.

Time: 8am - 11am, meet at 7.40am.
Meeting point: Assembly Area, 200m or a 6-min walk from Ubin Jetty  (map).

10 Jun (Sat): Mangrove Kayaking @ Sungei Jelutong with Nature Society (Singapore) and Kayakasia

Specially for Pesta Ubin, a series of guided, self-paddled kayak tours on Sungei Jelutong to enjoy its fascinating mangroves. Experienced volunteer guides will explain interesting facts about mangrove plants, importance of our coastal forests, and what we can do to conserve these forests and why we conserve.

This leisure guided trip is suitable for both children and adults alike. Pre-payment and registration is required. Each guided kayak trip lasts 1.5 hours including safety briefing.


10 Jun (Sat): A walk with your neighbours - the macaques of MacRitchie

The long-tailed macaques are the most conspicuous animals at Macritchie Reservoir Park. Although commonly seen, they are very misunderstood. Few seeing them realise anything about the social world these monkeys live in. They have kin networks, power struggles, friends, foes, and an otherwise complex social network. In many ways, they provide a mirror of our own sociality.
If you would like to learn more about your community and the interesting world of your neighbouring macaques at Macritchie, please join our free walk, led by experts from the Jane Goodall Institute Singapore.

Attend our complimentary tour of The Learning Forest every Saturday of the Month starting 8 April as we showcase the biodiversity of our latest attraction.
The Learning Forest features a network of boardwalks and elevated walkways that allow visitors to explore habitats ranging from a freshwater forest wetland to a lowland rainforest. Visitors can learn about freshwater forest wetland ecosystems at the Keppel Discovery Wetlands and walk amongst a collection of some of the tallest tree species in Southeast Asia at the SPH Walk of Giants.

Sara is on an adventure to find her friends at the Singapore Botanic Gardens and needs help! Be Sara’s extra pair of eyes and ears as the search brings her to explore paths less trodden in the Gardens. Participants will be introduced to plants that are useful to humans and discover more about the intricate relationships among living organisms. This programme will be conducted in Mandarin.
