25 Jan (Fri): How many subaerial algae are there in the tropical rainforest?

A talk by Dr Jiri Neustupa, Department of Botany, Charles University of Praque, Czech Republic.

Subaerial algae are mostly composed of microscopic plants (Chlorophyta) and chromists (Heterokontophyta). These little known organisms inhabit bark and leaves of forest trees. Diversity of subaerial algae has mostly been investigated in temperate ecosystems. Knowledge on tropical species richness is scarce.
