Mr S K Khew gives this talk. Singapore has effectively balanced urban development with the natural environment. With its ‘City in a Garden’ image, Singapore is well-known for its greenery despite its intensive land use and built environment. With the rich flora and horticultural diversity, the next stage would be to further enhance the greenery into a ‘living garden’ where fauna can co-exist within the urban environment, and where biodiversity thrives.
