Dr Lai Chee Kien, keen researcher of history of art, architecture, urbanism and landscapes in Southeast Asia, discusses with the landscapes of Singapore and SEAsia in the 19th and 20th centuries, and how plants and botanical life were important aspects that shaped the political and socio-economic histories of the region.
