Not many people may know this, but Singapore, in addition to being a global centre for trade, finance, entertainment, and food, has one of the highest concentrations of plant and animal diversity in the world. What is this diversity, where is it found, what are its prospects, and what can we do to ensure that it continues to thrive in the future? In addition, how is this biodiversity relevant to us, and how can our lives be enriched by it? It is hoped that one will look out at our Garden City with a new sense of wonderment and appreciation after learning about its many non-human residents.
