Microplastics Analysis Workshop Learn about the impact of trash on marine biodiversity and the various community efforts in addressing them. You can also do your part and contribute to the understanding of microplastics in Singapore.
The event features a panel discussion with speakers from community groups who will share about local efforts to combat marine trash and how their data contributes to global efforts.
After the panel discussion, you will get a hands on experience of field surveying coastal sites for microplastics and sorting them on St. John's Island.
This workshop requires light physical activity, which includes walking to field sites (approx. 20 minutes walk) and conducting field surveys.
It is suitable for kids aged 12 and above.
This event is a collaboration between NParks and the Friends of the Marine Park community as part of the International Year of the Reef 2018, and is jointly organised by NParks, the National University of Singapore and St. John's Island National Marine Laboratory.
