The National Geographic Store is collaborating with NParks to offer educational talks on local conservation, biodiversity and wildlife. There will also be an exhibition on the biodiversity in Singapore.
Forests are important to us as they are a source of food and material needs for mankind. Over the years, researchers have harvested ingredients for various medicines from research on plants found in the forests. Many of the items used in our everyday lives (eg, furniture) also come from the forests. If you want to know how important the forests in Singapore are, this workshop will show you a sampler of such daily items. Kids will also get a chance to participate in a short art and craft session at the end of the workshop.
Ms Jeanne Tan (Senior Outreach Officer) conducts this session.
