6 Apr (Sat): Butterfly Walk at Telok Blangah Hill & Mt Faber

for Nature Society (Singapore) members and their friends only

The Telok Blangah Hill Park and Mount Faber Park are part of the Southern Ridges. Both sites are accessible by Telok Blangah Green Rd, off Henderson Road in Bukit Merah. With an elevation of approximately 106 metres (or 344 ft), the hills are charming spots showing cultivated greenery and matured secondary forest. Over the years, some lovely Lycaenides have been sighted on the hills. They include Ambon Onyx, Felder's Royal, Malayan Plum Judy, Scarce Silver Streak, Acacia Blue. Other butterflies encountered have also been a few rare ones like the Courtesan (Nymphalidae family) and Hieroglyphic Flat (Hesperiidae family), besides more common ones like the Painted Jezebel, Plain Nawab, Common Grass Yellow.
