Dragonflies are fascinating insects that have existed for approximately 300 million years. The winged adults are diversely coloured from reds to blues and yellows. A dragonfly’s speed and agility makes it one of the fastest and most effective aerial predators. However in highly urbanised Singapore, dragonflies have become memories. But they are still around and well, waiting for a new generation to rediscover and appreciate them.
In this mini-workshop, you will be introduced to the ecology and biology of dragonflies. Live specimens of larvae will also be presented. A short visit to nearby ponds to look for dragonflies will complete the session.
Suitable for children above 9 years old.
