Rice is a staple food in many Asian cultures. Come find out more about this food in our special school holiday programme. What does nasi lemak mean in Malay? When do Chinese eat ang ku kueh? What goes into a plate of briyani? Explore the answers to these questions and more as we learn about the different uses of rice in Asia through a journey into the museum’s galleries.
Then, join us for a trip to the spice garden in Fort Canning and learn more about the different spices used in Asian rice dishes and about how rice is planted and harvested.
